Mark your calendars! Glynn Art in the Park Festivals will be celebrating its 19th Annual Spring Festival on April 14 & 15, 2012 and its 43rd Annual Fall Festival on October 13 & 14, 2012 in the newly renovated Postell Park on St. Simons Island. The festivals are produced by Glynn Art Association, and are the premier show of fine arts and crafts.
New to the Spring Festival this year is live music both days, under the oak trees. Chairs and benches will be available nearby for your listening pleasure while you admire your newly purchased artwork! Food and beverages will also be available for purchase. See details under “Festival Facts”.
Glynn Art in the Park’s fall festival is unique from other festivals in the area, in that cash awards are presented by a panel of judges for the best artists in their category. Last year’s festival brought in artists from the Southeast and around the country, who look forward to showing their work in such a unique setting under live oak trees and within view of the Atlantic Ocean. Every year the cash awards have increased, attracting higher quality and more diversity in the artists who attend.
New this year is the Patron Preview Party, a tantalizing event before the fall festival begins. Patrons and guests will get an exclusive preview of artwork from the 70 talented artists who will be displaying their work during the weekend. Highlighting the evening will be the presentation of awards for the best artwork in various categories. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the artists as well as purchase art. In the surroundings of the elegant Glynn Art Visual Center, guests and artists can enjoy, food, wine, and beverages from our area’s favorite restaurants. Tickets are included for Patrons or can be purchased separately.
